Under the Stars with Years 3 & 4

From Year 3, all pupils get the opportunity to attend residentials during the school year, and last Friday was a gentle (but action-packed) introduction for our youngest Prep pupils.

The evening started with setting up camp, choreographing Welcome Songs and dances, creating signs for tents and getting changed into onesies and oodies. Dinner was plentiful and even eaten al-fresco! Giggles were shared and strategies were planned for a game of 40:40 whilst munching on a feast of hot dogs, pasta, fruit and chocolate cookies. Under the watchful eye of Mr. Anderson, a massive game of 40:40 was played amidst the trees before everyone cosied around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and enjoying a cup of hot chocolate. The children did very well at settling down in their tents and quietly reading by torch light before lights out and sleep commenced.

Camp was abuzz with laughter by 6:30am as stories and experiences of their night under the stars were being shared. The fun didn’t stop there- breakfast was followed by a morning swim before Base Camp was packed away for a 9 o’clock pick up! A special mention and "well done" to those who went on to help out at Grounds Day!

We are so proud of all of the children – this experience will set them up perfectly for their upcoming longer residentials off-site!
